           I. Poor Attachment is an early interruption in the brain's development-- a kind of emotional miswiring that forms when a child isn't CONSISTENTLY seen, received or soothed.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/strong&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           Attachment is the first language the nervous system ever learns.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           If the environment was chaotic, distant, or emotionally unpredictable, the child's awareness grows OUTWARDS (watching the room, tracking others, and in the modern day-- getting lost in screens) instead of inwards (tracking themselves.)
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           Later in life, this may show up as:
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;ul&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;li&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            difficulty sensing ones own needs
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/li&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;li&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            trouble reading ones internal signals
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/li&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;li&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            repeating painful relationship patterns
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/li&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;li&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            feeling off, unseen, or unworthy without knowing why
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/li&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/ul&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;strong&gt;&#xD;
      
           This is NOT weakness -- its PHYSIOLOGY.

           II. What Poor Attachment Does to the Developing Brain
          &#xD;
    &lt;/strong&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;ul&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;li&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
          
             Early Conflict Becomes the Blueprint:
            &#xD;
        &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            When parents are overwhelmed, inconsistent, or in conflict themselves, the child's brain learns to BRACE. This bracing becomes a long-term pattern that shapes how they relate to others and to themselves.
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/li&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;li&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            The Midbrain Takes the Hit:
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
          
             Emotional inconsistency affects the midbrain-- the center for regulation, tone and connection. Tone of voice, facial expression, and emotional presence matter more to a child that words ever could.

      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/li&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;li&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            Children live from the "Gut Brain":
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
          
             Young children operate from a more instinctive, non-linear place. Without stable attachment, they can get STUCK in early brain states -- like "adult responsibilities" showing up in a little nervous system body.
            &#xD;
        &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/li&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/ul&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;strong&gt;&#xD;
      
           III. Interrupted Attachment= Interrupted Development
          &#xD;
    &lt;/strong&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           When parents are emotionally absent or unavailable at key times, the child may get frozen in that developmental stage. This may lead to:
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;ul&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;li&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            Narcissistic Wounding: Not being seen&amp;gt;&amp;gt; Inflating the self to survive

    &lt;li&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            Fragmentation: Extreme sensitivity

      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            Relationship Confusion: Difficulty trusting or staying present
           &#xD;

  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;

            Ages 0-9 are Pivotal:

           During these years the emotional (limbic) system is their foundation. When injury or inconsistency occurs here, talk therapy alone may not reach the depth of the wound BECAUSE IMPRINT LIVES BENEATH LANGUAGE.

  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;strong&gt;&#xD;
      
           IV. How Poor Attachment Affects Movement and Exercise
          &#xD;
    &lt;/strong&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           A.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            You can't feel your body clearly:
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            When you grow up tracking others more than yourself, your internal signals get fuzzy and movement can become confusing. In fancy trainer speak, your
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            interoceptive and proprioceptive abilities
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            may become compromised.
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            B.
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           Self-Care feels unsafe or indulgent
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            : If your early environment taught you to stay small, quiet, or hyper-vigilant, taking time for yourself can feel wrong. For an attachment-injured system, this can trigger old fear.
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
                 
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
              So you quit before your start. Or your start but cannot sustain. Or you book but don't show up.
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            (Note to trainers reading this: Another reason to not judge our clients that are still finding their way to commitment success!)
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            C.
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            The Midbrain's regulation system never finished developing.
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            Movement IS regulation. This is why people say:
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           "I know what to do (exercise.) But I cannot get myself to do it regularly."
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;strong&gt;&#xD;
      
            THIS IS NOT A MINDSET ISSUE-- ITS A REGULATORY GAP!
          &#xD;
    &lt;/strong&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
             D.
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           Interrupted Attachment = Interrupted Follow-Through
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            When key developmental stages were disrupted, the brain learned that fragmentation as a survival tool. Maybe this has something to do with ADHD, but I am not a mental health worker, I digressed and shall not further.
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            Follow-through requires COHERENCE.
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            Coherence requires SAFETY.
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           So maybe your system can start, but how can we help it successfully SUSTAIN?
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
            E.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            Movement brings up Stored Emotional Patterns
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            : The body remembers everything. Stretching fascia, increasing breath, or engaging dormant postural muscles can activate old emotional imprints. Without support, a movement program can become uncomfortable -- not because of the exercise, but because the body is surfacing what was once too much to feel.
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           Your system isn't resisting fitness. It's resisting OVERWHELM.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            Also, the majority of Pilates exercises are belly-up (supine position in trainer speak) which is a highly vulnerable position for mammals.
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;strong&gt;&#xD;
      
           V. My Pilates + Esogetic Approach, based on Integrative Medicine's top-down approach,  seeks to fill in the developmental gaps:

            It anchors safety directly into the fascia and nervous system, by treatments that regulate the HPA axis, calm the amygdala and hippocampus, which also is controls coordination.

           Self care becomes good instinct-- with no guilty after-taste.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/strong&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;strong&gt;&#xD;
      
           Consistency becomes a rhythm-- not a fight.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/strong&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;strong&gt;&#xD;
      
           Movement is NOT medicine if the body is not ready!

            child: bold, independent, driven by a spark that even they don’t always understand. These children aren’t defiant—they’re

           initiators

    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;

            . When we try to control them, they shut down or explode. But when we teach them to

      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           inform

    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;

            before they act, and give them space to lead in safe ways, they begin to trust themselves. And they trust you, too.

  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;

            and more about

    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           co-regulation
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           . Less fear. Less yelling. Less “Why won’t you listen?” and more “I see you.”
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;

    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           Fear and violence often arise when we misunderstand each other. But when we understand—truly understand—how we’re built, what calms us, what sparks us, what overwhelms us… that’s when softness returns. That’s when nervous systems sync in safety.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;

           Human Design is not about labeling your child—it’s about liberating them. And you.

      <title>From Willpower to Self Acceptance: The Open Heart Center in Human Design</title>

            Your Open Heart Center (or Will Center) in Human Design can profoundly shape the ease, or dis-ease of your professional happiness. It offers growth and insight but also presents challenges if not navigated mindfully.
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           In Human Design, each bodygraph contains nine centers, each representing a group of energies, ways of being, or talents. In total, 64 talents comprise this map of consciousness. The heart center specifically speaks to four energies that define the realm of willpower and competition. Astonishingly, consistent accessibility to willpower is only available to about 30% of the competition. For the rest of us,  70% of the population have open or undefined heart centers, including myself, which motivated me to write this article. (For ease of reference I shall also refer to both types as "open.")
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
      
           Many motivational speakers and high-performing leaders have a defined heart center. I remember in my early 20s, my father gifted me a trip to Palm Beach, Florida, to attend Tony Robbins'
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            Date with Destiny
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            event. Tony Robbins has a defined heart center. He belongs to the 30% that has consistent access to willpower, and he is the ultimate master of it. When in the presence of individuals with a defined heart center, the energy is contagious and powerful. Like a mirror, our “openness” not only witnesses, but also magnifies that energy for everyone. However, after leaving the venue and hopping on the plane—my friends and I went from a room full of motivation and “hell yea”s  to a void of silence. All those resolutions—poof, gone—and self-doubts start creeping back in.
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            Unfortunately, this phenomenon happens frequently in the grind of daily living on a massive, albeit more micro level. For those with an open heart center, this can lead to futile efforts at competition, constant unhealthy (and unfair) comparisons, spiraling into cycles of self-doubt and low self-esteem. From boss to employees, from coach to athletes, from teacher to students, from parents to children. A never ending unhealthy dynamic between unrealistic expectations and the devastating pressure to please and perform and not having the consistent fuel to feed it.
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
      
           Since the Heart Center governs willpower, self-worth, and the drive for material success, it can significantly impact your career, depending on your Human Design. When open, you may be more susceptible to external influences on self-worth and motivation. However, you can turn these potential challenges around through conscious self-inquiry. Below are some prompts that I have created and am working on. Having only discovered Human Design in my 40s, I know it will take some time to reset outdated mental structures of willpower and competition. What I also know is that as I master a healthier mindset, I can help many others master it too. Here are four key areas to explore for open heart centers:
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
      
           1. Fluctuating Self-Worth:
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           - Reflection: When do I experience feelings of inadequacy, especially in competitive settings, leading me to overworking in order prove myself?.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            - Solution: I cultivate self-awareness and practice self-acceptance. I recognize my inherent worth beyond external achievements. When I do that, and I don’t put the burden on others to recognize me, then
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           I can truly love. 
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
      
           2. Overcommitting and Burnout:
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
